Business Development Center (BDC®)
The
daily business development effort is centralized through a dedicated
facility known as the Business Development Center (BDC).
The BDC
is utilized as the "marketing center" of the dealership and organizes
people and information in an effort to create quality showroom traffic
through daily appointment setting.
The BDC
requires ample space and resources for 20-25% of the dealership's
sales consultants at one time. This distraction free environment
supports daily follow-up procedures by utilizing customized software,
such as the Traver BD System, for tracking information of all telephone
activity to showroom prospects and current customers.
The BDC
structures and streamlines the daily activities of the sales consultant,
providing them with 90 minutes of organized time for appointment
setting, prospecting and customer contact. When the sales consultants
arrive in the BDC for their scheduled 90-minute shift, the
following resources await them:
- A
daily marketing plan (DMP) with a list of the day's scheduled
contacts and suggested activities
- Laser
printed letters of correspondence to unsold prospects and sold
customers, ready for their signature
- An
up-to-date goal tracking system providing current information
on their sales and BDCperformance.
Designing a BDC®
As a result of the BDC,
daily follow-up procedures become a routine business practice. Traver
Technologies assists the dealership in selecting the proper location
and layout for the BDC
during a BD Process Evaluation.
Many considerations need to be made prior to building
a BDC.
The location, size, technology options and expansion capabilities
must all be addressed early in the plans. Traver Technologies
provides the dealership with experience and guidance
in making all of these decisions.
Many of the obvious decisions do not require help,
however Traver Technologies can provide cost saving ideas for the
obvious decisions in addition to insight into the not so distant
future. Options regarding the most recent trends in furnishings,
technology and processes related to business development practices
are shared with the dealership.
Typically, this assistance is performed during
the initial BD Process Evaluation, however it can be scheduled to
accommodate the dealership's needs. To date, Traver Technologies
has assisted hundreds of dealership organizations plan and develop
their BDC
facilities.
